Frequently Asked Questions

From Sellers

Should I have an inspection done prior to putting my home on the market?

If  your home is older than 20 years or you think there might be something  that needs attention then yes, have an inspection and address the issues  up front. This will save you in the long run.

Should I stage my home?

YES! Proper staging can help your home sell faster and boost the offers you receive. Your Realtor can suggest a professional stager or they may even have a background in staging so they could do it themselves.

Should I get an appraisal before putting my home on the market?

That is a personal choice that you as the seller has to make. A good Realtor can price your home for the market, however if you disagree with their findings or you have a unique layout/type of home compared to what has sold then it might be a good idea.

From Buyers

What does it cost to work with a Realtor?

Nothing! You as a buyer do not have to pay for a Real Estate Agent to work for you. The seller pays for any Realtor’s fees.

Can I work with more than one Realtor at a time?

It's not advisable. Things would get very confusing very quickly for both you and your Realtors.

Can I still buy a house if my credit isn't very good?

There are many mortgage programs out there. The best way to find out which one you qualify for is to talk to a lender. Your Realtor can suggest a few for you to contact.
